Current Yankess and former Astros pitcher Andy Pettitte took to the podium today for a press conference to explain why he copped to just the Brian McNamee incident of HGH use. Turns out that his 2002 usage confession failed to include another incident in 2004, which his father begged him to come clean to.
Hmmm…. The guy sounded sincere and believable. However, he did a couple of months back too when he admitted to the McNamee tale.
Okay, we’ll give the guy the benefit of the doubt, but what if another incident comes to light?
Is he then living by the motto he professed today that "the truth shall set you free"?
Even if Andy is still covering up other incidents, let’s face it–at least he isn’t lying and denying outright like chum (and bum) Roger Clemens.
If Clemens had just come out and said, "Okay, I took some HGH because…(fill in the blanks for whatever ridiculous reason)," he would now be on his way to the Hall of Fame instead of the Hall of Shame and Hall of Stupidity and Hubris.
You can enjoy your time in heaven–as that Congresswoman promised you–conversing with Richard Nixon, Roger.
Roger Nixon? Richard Clemens? Does it matter?
