Mr. Unlucky’s Almanack

Do the aphorisms and observations of Benjamin Franklin and his Poor Richard still apply, or are we beyond hope and salvation?

I realize that these baseball sports analysts and announcers have to make things sound exciting, but really now, folks, the Colorado Rockies couldn’t beat the Tampa Bay Bucaneers in a seven-game series.

What are these idiots smoking to pick the Red Sox only in seven, or worse, to pick the Rockies in any amount of games?  The Rockies have no pitcher who can stop the BoSox.

Granted, the Rockies had a nice little run there, but that was in Triple A-plus (National League).  The American League is the real deal, and Colorado has no clue how to stop BoSox (or NYY, Cleveland, LAA) hitters.  Plus, Matt Holliday still hasn’t touched home plate to earn the Rockies a place in the post-season.  Payback time.

Goodbye, Rocks, back to .500 next year.
