Hats off to baseball Hall of Fame inductee Cal Ripken Jr., who at ceremonies today proclaimed: "Like it or not, we are all role models."

I was going to add cycling to my list yesterday because the lead cyclist in the Tour de France quit because of a positive doping test, but I couldn’t spell the guy’s name.

The demons of the sporting world all decided to attack at once, sparing virtually no sport.
To wit: In baseball, a much-hated and suspected steroid-abuser named Barry Bonds is about to break the home run record set by Hank Aaron, close friend and confidant of MLB Commissioner Bud Selig. Selig ain’t happy.

Hmmmm…She’s wearing an alcohol-detecting ankle bracelet, but how long can she resist if her first impulse is back to Vegas and partying?
